This furparent took to social media to mourn the death of family pet dogs that saved his two kids from a fire that razed houses in Upper Bicutan, Taguig City.
A certain Rommel Tuyay shared online that their furbabies Sakura and Berry woke his sleeping children and alerted them of the blaze but unfortunately failed to escape from the raging house fire.
In a heartbreaking Facebook post, Rommel bid goodbye to their pets who have been with them for about a year, and whom they consider as their happy pill and treat as family members.
“Ito po ang (dalawang) aso na nagligtas sa buhay ng dalawang anak ko, thank you Lord. Paalam sa (dalawang) pinakamamahal kong mga alaga na hindi bilang hayop, kundi bilang tao ang turing namin sa kanila kasama sa bahay, katabi sa pagtulog at sila rin ang nagbibigay kasiyahan sa tuwing kami ay umuuwi sa bahay,” Rommel wrote in a now-viral Facebook post.
Rommel was grateful that his 14- year-old and 10 year-old kids were able to make it out alive, but were disheartened to learn that their dogs lost their lives to the fire.
“Nung oras din ng sunog kasi hinahanap ko sila nung nakalabas na ‘yung dalawang bata, sabi naiwan daw sa bahay namin nung wala ng sunog hinanap ko na.
“Sabi ko nga sana nakaligtas ung mga alaga ko, pero nakita ko na nadaganan sila ng yero. Umiyak nga kami kasi mahal n mahal namin ang mga aso namin,” Rommel shared in a message to STAR’s Latestchika.com.
“Salamat sa mga alaga ko, hinding-hindi ko kayo makakalimutan dahil sa kabayanihang ginawa niyo para sa mga anak ko. Wala man naisalbang gamit pero may naisalba naman kayong (dalawang) buhay. Mahal na mahal namin kayo,” added Rommel in the Facebook post which has earned more than 50,000 reactions and over 30,000 comments online.
Rommel’s family and other fire victims are curre taking shelter at Silangan Elementary School in Upper Bicutan, Taguig City.
