LJ Reyes had a reasonable response when asked if she would go to Baguio with someone “as a friend” some time in the future.
The actress once again spoke to Boy Abunda a month after she opened up about her controversial split with Paolo Contis in an interview on the veteran TV host’s YouTube channel.
LJ shared how she and her kids Aki and Summer are doing in New York after they flew there late August to get them “out of the situation physically to help ourselves emotionally and mentally recover and rebuild as a small family.”
“Ok naman po. Masaya, happy dito. Nakakatuwa kasi kahit we’ve been here more than a month pa lang pero okay naman po ‘yung mga kids,” LJ told Boy in the recent interview.
The mom of two also related how she’s been coping up with the situation, admitting that there are still times when she finds herself not okay.
“There are days that I find it difficult. Parang, ‘ang hirap nito’. ‘Okay nandito kayo ng mga bata. Kailangan kayanin mo’,” said LJ.
She continued, Halos minu-minuto akong nagdadasal.Kasi there are days tito Boy, hindi totoong walang araw at feeling nila naka-move on ka na. I think it will be a very long journey, a difficult one. Pero, kumakapit lang po talaga ako sa Diyos.”
Asked about her plans for her showbiz career, LJ said at this point that she’s giving herself time to heal and figure things out.
“I’m taking life one day at a time, ” said LJ.
“Mahirap po kung madaliin ‘yung mga bagay-bagay, at meron pong dalaawang batang umaasa sa’kin. I feel like I cannot make any more wrong decisions.
Boy capped off the interview with a more lighthearted question: “Sometime in the future ba LJ, would you go to Baguio with someone as friends?”
Breaking into laughter, LJ answered: “Yes, Tito Boy. Why not? I’m proud of Baguio as a Filipino. Maraming pwedeng puntahan doon. Maraming pwedeng kainan.”
“So, yes. Actually po, Paulo Avelino is from Baguio. So, may family dun si Aki. Pupunta talaga kami dun,” she added laughingly.
The question was in reference to Paolo’s previous statement about spending time with A Faraway Land co-star Yen Santos in Baguio City amid his controversies with his breakup with LJ in August.
Paolo denied speculations that Yen was the cause of their breakup, affirming that they only went there “as friends”.
His remarks have since inspired lots of memes online.
