Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera has finally revisited the longstanding “padlock” rumor involving an alleged comfort room (CR) locking incident, bringing the controversial showbiz story back into the spotlight during her guest appearance on Gandang Gabi Vice.
In a teaser for the episode, host Vice Ganda asked Marian about the persistent rumor that she once locked another actress inside a CR.
“Yung padlock-padlock na iyan dati, did it really happen?” Vice asked.
Marian appeared surprised by the question, responding, “Yung totoo!?” before joining in on the playful exchange.
In the teaser, she was also shown pretending to lock a door before delivering the cheeky line, “O, di ba, malandi ka! Ayan, malandi ka, e!”
The longstanding “padlock” rumor allegedly stemmed from an out-of-town taping of Endless Love in 2010, where Marian Rivera was accused of locking Bela Padilla inside a comfort room following a love scene between Bela and Dingdong Dantes.
Late singer and talent manager Claire Dela Fuente claimed Marian confronted and verbally berated Bela. GMA Network later said it had met with the parties and reached an agreement to put the controversy behind them.
The rumor has circulated for years, with actress Bela Padilla previously denying claims that Marian had locked her inside a comfort room or physically harmed her. Marian had also denied the allegation in a previous interview.
In 2014, four years after the controversy, Marian and Bela appeared to move toward reconciliation when Bela guested on Marian’s self-titled dance show. The two reportedly shared a hug backstage at the studio, offering a moment of closure amid the years-old controversy.
The uncut episode is set to stream exclusively on iWant on Sunday, October 25, at 11 p.m., while the television episode airs on GMA at 10 p.m.
