Alice Dixson, 51, shared the good news on Good Friday that the “newest little family member has arrived” after 10 years of waiting and praying.
The veteran actress surprised many when she posted on Instagram a beaming photo of herself holding up a piece of paper that showed a newborn baby’s footprints.
“Despite the unexpected trials this year, God gave us a little miracle,” the star of GMA 7’s Legal Wives began her post.
“For those of you who really know me — you’ve known that I’ve been praying for this every year on my birthday for 10 years now. Each year — my wish the same when I blew out my candles ?.”
Alice said it was through “great patience, belief and trust” that her long-time wish finally came true.
“So with great patience, belief and trust — I am happy to announce my wish has finally come true ?
“Our newest little family member has arrived ❤️. From my family to yours ?. Advanced Happy Easter.”
Celebrity friends were quick to congratulate Alice on her special announcement.
“God is great! I’m so happy for you! God indeed answers prayers,” Vina Morales wrote in the comments section.
Princess Punzalan said, “I know you have been waiting for this bundle of joy for a long time and I rejoice with you.”
“I can’t wait to meet her,” Cristalle Belo also commented.
No other details about the newborn were given, but Alice had previously said in a GMA interview that her only wish for herself was to have a baby.
In a 2019, she revealed that she and her partner were in the process of becoming parents through surrogacy. She was considering the method due to her age.
“It was never about the way I would look after. It was about my age and my concern about the safety of the child, the wellness of the pregnancy,” she said in an ABS-CBN interview.
“I’ve tried previously and it didn’t work out. So parang my partner and I decided, ‘OK, let’s try surrogacy,’” she added.
The actress was previously married to Ronnie Miranda for 14 years before divorcing in Canada in 2013. They were childless.
She, however, has not publicly introduced her non-showbiz partner whom she first met back in April 2012.
In 2018, after netizens questioned why she was in Boracay when the island was supposedly closed off to tourists for rehabilitation, a resort hotel issued a statement stating that Alice is “married” to its top executive and a resident of Boracay.
