For his next big movie, Joshua Garcia is going solo. The Kapamilya star landed the lead role as Gilberto “Galo” P. Manansala in the film adaptation of Bob Ong’s best-selling novel Ang Mga Kaibigan ni Mama Susan.
This is the actor’s first project without a love interest.
“Nakakapanibago. First time kong gumawa ng pelikula na walang love interest kaya talagang nakakapanibago. Kasi usually kapag may loveteam ako, creating chemistry with your partner yon eh. Ito magki-create ako ng chemistry with friends, with lola. So bago rin sa akin ito,” he explained in a report from Pilipino Star Ngayon.
The 22-year-old actor admitted he’s feeling nervous to lead a movie on his own.
“Wala nang ‘I love you’ dito eh. Ito na yung mas ako na lang dito. At dahil solo ako, mas kinakabahan ako ngayon. Kapag kasi may partner ka, dalawa kayong nagtutulong lalo na sa promo. Dito pakiramdam ko double yung effort ko,” he said.
Despite facing difficulties for his new project, Joshua assured he will be doing his best to work on the film.
ABS-CBN film production Black Sheep announced Joshua’s lead role in the film early February.
