Vic Sotto shares his ‘panlaban’ vs social media trolls

Vic Sotto gave his two cents about the issue of “rivalry” between his noontime program on TV5, Eat Bulaga, and It’s Showtime on GMA.

Earlier, Vic’s co-host Joey de Leon denied the alleged “bad blood” between the two noontime shows amid social media posts pitting them against each other.

The statement came after he and Tito Sotto debunked allegations that Eat Bulaga is facing closure due to financial loss.

Joey de Leon: ‘Hindi namin kaaway ‘yung Showtime’

In an interview with the entertainment press, “Bossing” Vic Sotto shared his thoughts on fans clashing online: “Hindi kasi ako ma-social media eh.

Regarding who Eat Bulaga’s real enemy is, Sotto clarified it’s not It’s Showtime. He said, “Never naming sasabihing kaaway. Katapat, kalaban pero kaaway? Iba ‘yung kaaway namin. Iba ‘yung kaaway sa kalaban eh.”

He continued, “Iyong kalaban it could be a friendly competition. It’s always been that case ‘no with Eat Bulaga and Showtime. Ilang taon na kaming magkatapat. Mananalo kami, mananalo sila.

On the topic of fake news, Vic expressed confidence that Filipino audiences know how to separate fact from fiction.

The Eat Bulaga mainstay also shared his “countermeasure” against social media trolls.

Scroll muna. Balewala na lahat ‘yun. Iyong fans, ‘yung mga nagbabangayan, pero at the end of the day dapat masaya lang tayo,” Vic said.

After a while, labas na rin ang katotohanan,” he added.

Vic also responded to questions about reports that Eat Bulaga has already reached half a billion earnings in six months.

“‘Wag kayong mag-aala nagbabayad kami ng tax,” Vic stated before adding, “wala akong alam dun.

Vic’s statements came after Eat Bulaga aired a festive episode to celebrate the well-loved Bossing’s birthday on Saturday, April 20.
