Actress Iza Calzado honored the nurses who took care of her during her battle against COVID-19 in March.
In an Instagram post showing her reunited with the health workers, the Kapamilya star wrote: “Allow me to shine the spotlight on my amazing team of nurses (missing a few though!) from Asian Hospital who gave me the best love and care any patient could ever ask for. Together with my brilliant doctors, I really couldn’t have asked for a better team to help me fight and beat Covid 19. I am forever grateful.❤️”
Her talent manager Noel Ferrer confirmed that Iza treated them out and gave them tokens of appreciation for the heroic work that they did when Iza was a patient, and continue to do for those still fighting the illness.
“Sinagip nila ang buhay niya while risking theirs. They deserve the best… and our utmost gratitude,” he told The STAR’s Latestchika.com.
Ferrer added that the actress met the nurses just before she would be “locked in for a month” as she returns to work and resumes shooting her ABS-CBN series with Jodi Sta. Maria and Sam Milby.
Iza tested positive for the coronavirus disease back in March and was hospitalized for almost two weeks.
She then described her time at the hospital as a “challenging period,” but that her condition was nothing compared to the experience of medical frontliners caring for her.
Last June 12, on Philippine Independence Day, the COVID-19 survivor donated her blood plasma to the Philippine General Hospital for its “potentially lifesaving treatment” of coronavirus patients who are in critical condition.
