Chinese billionaire Jack Ma continues to pour donations to countries hit by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Department of Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez announced on Thursday that the founder of e-commerce Alibaba will be donating 500,000 face masks to the Philippines to combat the spread of the new coronavirus.

“I want to personally send my best regards and hope we can do something for the Philippines to fight this virus. I hope that I can do something more. For now, we have decided to give 500,000 masks to the Philippines,” Jack Ma said in a statement as reported by Philstar.com.

The face masks are expected to be delivered later this week or early next week, said Dominguez.

Senator Manny Pacquiao, meanwhile, on Wednesday donated about 700,000 face masks to COVID-19 frontliners.
