Kim Chiu reflects on faith after visiting pilgrimage sites in Italy

The Kapamilya stars recently flew to Rome for the ASAP Natin To concert show in Italy’s capital.

After the show, the ABS-CBN celebrities spent some quality leisure time and went to different places in Italy.

“Chinita Princess” Kim Chiu chose to stop by a popular pilgrimage destination before she headed back home — the Padre Pio Shrine in San Giovanni Rotondo.

On her Instagram, Kim recalled back to a time when she and her mother would go to church every Sunday as their form of bonding.

Kim’s mother died in 2013 due to brain aneurysm.

“One thing that my mom left me before she passed away is my faith.❤️ I remember before when I was young she always brings me to church and that’s the bond we had every Sunday, just me and her!????,” she said in a post, which showed her in front of Sant’Alfonso church, home of the original icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, on the Esquiline Hill in central Rome.

The actress also shared other photos of her roaming around “by myself and my tripod” and visiting the ancient ruins of Rome, including the famous Colosseum.

Kim wrote: “Before I was really scared to do things on my own (especially) when going to unfamiliar places, but surprisingly as time passes by, I really enjoyed it a lot, discovering things on your own and learning more about yourself, things you thought you can’t do, but… you made it!

“When you cross the doubt in your head and trust the process, then you can see that there is more to life in each and every day that we live, endless surprises of finding oneself!”
