Vice Ganda has found an “extra source of happiness” and it’s none other than K-pop supergroup BTS.
Speaking to co-hosts Kim Chiu and Vhong Navarro on the Friday (February 19) episode of the noontime show It’s Showtime, Vice shared that he almost missed work after discovering and binge-watching videos of the popular Korean boy band.
“Masyadong masaya yung puso ko. Napuyat ako, natulog ako 6 a.m. na. Bilang isa akong latebloomer, mayroon akong nadiskubreng grupo. ‘Yung BTS kagabi ko lang napanood, nakakaloka, nabaliw ako talaga.”
Vice Ganda said that he was already aware of BTS, but it’s just recently when he had the chance to learn more about them.
“Alam ko ‘yung BTS pero hindi ko lang sila isa-isa. Kagabi kinilala ko sila isa-isa buong magdamag kahapon, nakakaloka.”
“Ah, hindi ka natulog dahil sa BTS,” Kim told Vice who responded in jest, “Hindi nga dapat ako papasok.”
The comedian host also shared via Instagram stories his unboxing of some of the BTS merchandise he got from his good friend who’s an ultimate fan of the group.
“Ngayon sobrang dami kong hahabulin. It’s worth it! Sobrang galing nila,” gushed Vice.
He added, “Nung una hindi ko alam na BTS pinapanood ko. Ang taray. Ang galing. I’m so happy to be a fan of BTS especiallyTaehyung and Jungkook”.
Vice also took to Twitter to express his joy for being wholeheartedly welcomed by the BTS fandom collectively called as Army.
“I AM SO HAPPY! I found an extra source of happiness,” tweeted Vice Ganda.
“Nahihiya ako sa mga ARMY. Bago palang akong super faney ng BTS and wala pa kong masyadong alam kaya ayokong magpakafeelingera na ARMY ako. Pero thankful ako ng severe sa mga nagwewelcome sakin. Ang saya pala talaga no! Chugug!” he said in another tweet.
Although Vice had previously collaborated with BT21 — a line of characters created by BTS — for his makeup brand Vice Cosmetics, the comedian now feels more proud and overwhelmed than ever that the collaboration happened.
“I knew ever since na sobrang big ng BTS and super happy ako na napili nila ang ViceCosmetics para i-collab. Pero now ko lang talaga sila napanuod ng bongga and nakilala isa-isa. At mas lalo akong na-proud na may Vice X BT21 products! Overwhelmed ako,” he said.
