On the ABS-CBN morning talk show Magandang Buhay, Piolo Pascual was moved to tears after his mother Amelia sent her regards as he goes back to work now that Metro Manila is under general community quarantine.
The self-admitted mama’s boy said he could not help his emotions. “Parang ganon tayo. We have that instinct na pag nakita mo nanay mo o tatay mo, you’ll always be a baby,” he said.
“My mom, she wants the best for everyone. Si mommy yung pag-care niya sa akin even if she lets me do stuff on my own, I know how much she worries for me,” he shared.
The veteran actor also mentioned that he made sure to spend time with mother during the quarantine.
“I made sure to spend this time with her when this thing happened because kailangan ng attention. You want them to live longer. You want them not to focus on getting old and you wanna give them beautiful memories. Parang binabalik mo lang yung binibigay sa iyo,” he said while trying to fight back his tears.
Piolo spent his quarantine cooped up with the rest of his family in his rest house in Batangas.
He shared that his quarantine routine revolved around spending time with his mother.
“Nakakataba ng puso na you get to enjoy that now kahit na mahihirap yung nangyayari sa paligid mo but, you know, alam mong complete ang family mo, alam mong safe kayo,” he said.
“Importante na we spend a lot of time with our folks na bawal lumabas. Nag-ma-maktol mga magulang natin na ‘bakit di ako pwede lumabas?’ diba? I made sure na di niya maisip na ma-bore or di niya maisip na umalis. We never left. Never namin siya iniwan,” he added.
