OPM singer-songwriter Arthur Nery continues to add to his list of career milestones with the release of his new album, “Fictions You Produce”.
Nery is currently the most-streamed Filipino male artist on Spotify, a record he has held for 342 days as of July 7. He also became the first Filipino male artist to surpass 10 million followers on the streaming platform.
Earlier this year, he was named the No. 2 Top Artist in the Billboard Philippines Mid-Year 2026 rankings.
His latest album explores themes of longing, imagined possibilities, and the “what if” scenarios that often accompany modern relationships.
“It explores that (‘what if’) feeling in its different forms,” Nery said of the project.
According to the singer, “Fictions You Produce” represents a different emotional space from his previous releases. While his sophomore album, “The Second,” reflected certainty in expressing love and heartbreak, he described the new record as embracing vulnerability and uncertainty.
“I felt like I couldn’t rely on my way of thinking,” he said. “So this was me living and applying dreams to reality.”
Nery said the album also served as a personal coping mechanism during a difficult period in his life.
“It is my way of coping from a reality I preferred not to be in,” he explained. “One that contained heartbreaks and insecurities. Similar to consuming fictional stories, I found comfort in creating my own realities.”
The eight-track album combines Nery’s signature R&B sound with collaborations featuring fellow artists Adie on “Paralisado” and Zeke Abella on “Double Timed.”
Speaking about the collaborations, Nery said he wanted to work with artists with whom he shared a genuine connection.
“I really valued personal connections and similarities I shared with the artists,” he said. “I wanted to know what made them happy or frustrated. I wanted to see the human being inside the artist.”
