Nine members of K-pop group THE BOYZ are reportedly taking legal steps to terminate their exclusive contracts with their agency, One Hundred Entertainment, due to alleged breaches of trust and contractual violations.
According to South Korean media reports published Thursday, March 19, nine members—Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric—formally notified the company of their intent to end their contracts through a certificate of contents sent in February to CEO Cha Ga Won.
One member, New, has reportedly chosen to remain with One Hundred Entertainment for undisclosed personal reasons.
In the document, the members reportedly cited a “breach of trust beyond repair,” alleging that the agency violated key terms of their agreements. Negotiations between the parties were said to have continued for about a month but ultimately failed to reach a resolution.
The members had also requested access to detailed contract and payment records alongside their initial notice. However, they claimed that the agency did not provide the requested documents for over a month and failed to offer any explanation.
During negotiations, CEO Cha Ga Won allegedly countered by accusing the members of “negligence” and demanding penalty fees for “breach of contract” should they proceed with its termination.
The situation reportedly extends beyond One Hundred Entertainment, as its affiliated labels, Big Planet Made and INB100, are also reportedly experiencing financial difficulties, including capital impairment and unpaid settlements totaling tens of billions of won.
Basic operational support, such as transportation for artists, has reportedly been halted, forcing some of its artists to attend schedules using personal vehicles.
As of writing, neither the agency nor the members have released official statements addressing the reports.
THE BOYZ debuted in 2017 as a 12-member act. The lineup later changed following the departures of Hwall in 2019 and Ju Haknyeon in 2025. After moving between agencies, the group officially signed with One Hundred Entertainment in December 2024.
