Basketball star Ricci Rivero and singer-actress Claudia Barretto were among those spotted cheering for national athlete Juliana Gomez during her fencing debut at the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Thailand.
Photos released by One Sports showed Rivero, a shooting guard for PBA team Phoenix Fuel Masters, and Barretto in attendance at the fencing venue inside Fashion Island Shopping Mall in Bangkok, where they watched Gomez compete.
Rivero and Barretto expressed their full support for Gomez as she made her SEA Games debut representing the Philippines in the Women’s Épée event alongside teammates Alexa Larrazabal and Ivy Claire Dinoy.
Juliana’s father, Leyte 4th District Representative and former actor Richard Gomez, recently made headlines after winning a silver medal in the sporting clays team event at the SEA Games.
He clinched the podium finish together with fellow Team Philippines members Carlo Baltonado, Joaquin Ancheta, and Eduardo Rivilla.
