Wedding bells are ringing for Eat Bulaga host Jose Manalo, 58, and his partner, former EB Babe Mergene Maranan, 37.
On Instagram, Mergene shared a video of how her soon-to-be husband asked for her sweetest “yes,” last December 2, 2024.
“The easiest YES I’ve ever said,” wrote Mergene as caption.
“It’s you. It’s always been you,” she wrote in another video.
The proposal video featured Jose Yeng Constantino’s “Ikaw” while accompanied by a guitarist and saxophonist.
Mergene looked visibly surprised and turned emotional as Jose walked towards her while singing.
When they came face-to-face, Jose pulled out an engagement ring, knelt down one knee and asked Mergene the big question. The comedian-host also gave Mergene a bouquet of flowers as he declared his love for Mergene.
Mergene was a regular on Eat Bulaga as a member of the all-female dance group EB Babes from 2006 to 2020.
Jose was previously married to Anna Lyn Santos who passed away in 2022. They had four children together — Benj, Myki, Ai and Niccolo.
