Matteo Guidicellio has finally broken his silence on his wedding with Sarah Geronimo.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Matteo confirmed that he and Sarah got married last Thursday, February 20, 2020.
The accompanying photo showed Sarah and Matteo widely smiling and sharing a toast.
“A day full of pure love, honesty and genuine emotions. Yes, we got married. Mr. and Mrs. Guidicelli,” Matteo began his Instagram post.
The actor shared that they tried to keep everything as intimate as possible because of private matters but expressed “the overwhelming joy, love and excitement” in building a new life together with his wife.
A TV Patrol report on Tuesday said that the two tied the knot at the Victory Fort Bonifacio in Taguig last February 20, which was attended by Matteo’s family and some churchmates who were only informed on the day before the wedding.
Continuing his Instagram post, Matteo then thanked family, friends and followers on social media for being his and wife Sarah’s “source of inspiration, strength, and most importantly, of LOVE.”
He also mentioned about the alleged punching incident that transpired during their special day, and maintained that he didn’t hit anyone. (READ: Matteo Guidicelli ‘did not punch anyone during civil wedding’ with Sarah Geronimo, says witness)
“That evening was almost perfect until some unexpected events took place, but don’t worry I never ‘punched’ anyone.”
The supposedly secret wedding turned sour when Sarah’s Mommy Divine unexpectedly arrived at the reception to ask for a moment with her daughter after being informed of Sarah’s whereabouts by her close-in detail Jerry Tamara.
In an interview with News5’s Aksyon sa Tanghali news anchor Raffy Tulfo, the bodyguard detailed that Matteo punched him in the throat after he was told not to meddle in his family. (READ: From shouting match to crying bride: Bodyguard bares details of commotion at Sarah-Matteo wedding.)
Sarah’s mother or any family member has not released any statement on the wedding.
Despite what happened, Matteo promised, “I will forever stand up and protect my wife just as how my father would protect my whole family.”
He continued to thank his family for loving Sarah like their own daughter.
“I would like to say thank you to my family for loving Sarah like a daughter. Our family is growing and we are blessed. Papa and mama, thank you for deeply loving and welcoming Sarah into our family.”
“In time, with God’s grace and Love, everything will heal and fall into place.
“We are happy, we are blessed, and we are husband and wife! Let’s always celebrate life and love! Nothing will ever defeat pure honest LOVE. God bless everyone for your love and support!” he added.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Guidicelli!
