Willie Revillame was taken aback when a female contestant, who thought she was pranked, called him “gago” on air during Wowowin’s episode on Monday.
In the game show’s Tutok to Win segment, Revillame without any introduction instructed the lucky winner to thank the show’s sponsor, an online shopping platform, before claiming her reward.
The woman on the other end of the line appeared to have been surprised by the call and suddenly exclaimed, “Gago! (Stupid!),” drawing shock and laughter from the TV host and the viewers.
The woman went on to curse at the host again, prompting Revillame to introduce himself.
“Uy, huwag niyo ako murahin, si Willie Revillame ‘to,” he said.
Finally getting a grasp of the situation, the woman then profusely apologized to the TV host.
“Ay sorry po, sorry po, sorry po. Sorry po talaga, Kuya Wil!, Sorry po talaga,” she said.
“Akala ko po talaga pinagti-tripan po talaga ako. Sorry po talaga, sorry,” she further explained.
An amused Revillame made light of the situation and said, “Alam mo kung ano sinabi mo? Nadinig ko. Sasabihin ko ulit, isisigaw ko sa mundo, sabi mo, ‘Guwapo!’ Dahil diyan sa sinabi mong guwapo ako, sampung libo!”
Despite the hilarious blunder, the lucky winner received an additional P5,000 to the original P10,000 cash prize.
