WATCH: These characters from American TV series Superstore speak in straight Tagalog!

-

Filipino viewers of American sitcom Superstore were surprised and amused to see and hear its characters suddenly speaking in straight Tagalog.

In its episode aired on Friday, Marcus and Mateo’s argument went from English to Tagalog “real quick”.

Marcus is played by American writer-actor Jon Barinholtz.

Meanwhile, Filipino-American actor Nico Santos played the role of Mateo in the comedy show. He also starred as Oliver in the box-office hit Crazy Rich Asians in 2018.

“Mateo and Marcus arguing in Tagalog is everything we never knew we needed,” said Superstore in its Twitter account.

Here’s their Tagalog exchange featuring some “unfriendly” lines:

Mateo: “Tarantad* ka talaga!”

Marcus: “Narinig ko yun g*go!”

Mateo: “Kapal ng mukha mo, alam kong ikaw kumuha ng gamit ko tumigil ka na!”
