After decades in the entertainment industry, Jaclyn Jose is ready to retire.
The internationally acclaimed actress surprised her fans with the big announcement on her Instagram page.
“I am retiring…. Marami po salamat,” she wrote in the caption of her video,
In the comments, she added: “Masakit but… I know I have to go…..”
It seems the 57-year-old also credited her kids Andi Eigenmann and Gwen Garimond Ilagan Guck for her decision.
“I just sooooo luv Andi and Gwen most and foremost to have come into this,” she said.
The Kapuso star earned international acclaim in 2016 when she won Best Actress for her performance in Ma’ Rosa at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016.
Jose’s work has also been recognized in the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (FAMAS) and the Gawan Urian Awards.
Her final project before retiring is GMA’s sports drama series, Bolera, starring alongside Kylie Padilla.
