Pauleen Luna revealed the key to making her relationship with husband Vic Sotto work despite the 34-year age difference.
The actress-host was recently asked in an interview with TV5’s Luchi Cruz-Valdez on how she deals with the age gap between her and TV host husband, and noted that she “wasn’t able to give a good answer because I honestly do not feel the ‘gap’ that we have.”
After pondering on the question for some time, Pauleen, who’s turning 32 this year, said that respect plays a huge part in her relationship with Vic, who is 66.
“My husband loves me very much and gives me a certain kind of confidence and security about our relationship but I think the thing I love most about him is the amount of respect he gives me,” she said.
She added: “He respects my life decisions, he respects my room to grow and he respects me like an equal. Never did I hear my husband raise his voice and (I never) felt like I was younger and didn’t matter. I always felt validated. I always feel important around him.”
Pauleen further stressed the importance of respect in a relationship: “Respect plays a big role in any relationship. I know deep in my heart that it’s one of the main reasons why this relationship is so easy.”
Pauleen and Vic’s “May-December” romance was controversial, but they still ended up together and tied the knot in January 2016.
The couple are now parents a two-year-old daughter named Talitha Maria Sotto.
