Davao City Vice Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte is undergoing a two-week home-quarantine after manifesting flu-like symptoms in the past days.
The Presidential son made the announcement on his Facebook page on Tuesday.
“I am subjecting myself to a 14-day self-quarantine immediately after experiencing flu-like symptoms in the past days and considering my travel to Metro Manila four weeks ago,” he said.
A Dobol B sa News TV reported that the vice mayor apparently had such symptoms as fever, cough and sore throat.
As of Tuesday, the 32-year-old Baste said he is “feeling a lot better.”
“I am currently isolated at my residence while I wait for the clearance from my doctor that I may be able to go out again,” he added.
He also reminded everyone to “always follow the guidelines from the local government in view of the ongoing COVID-19 concerns.”
He continued: “Let us take this matter seriously and help one another in overcoming this health crisis.”
According to a GMA News report, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte advised her younger brother not to avail the COVID-19 testing kit due to limited supplies, and save it for those exhibiting more severe symptoms instead.
