After joining TikTok, the Department of Health (DOH) Philippines has started a Viber group to address the public’s coronavirus (COVID-19) questions and concerns.
“Inaanyayahan kayo ng Kagawaran ng Kalusugan na sumali sa DOH PH COVID-19 community upang makatanggap ng mga bagong update ukol sa COVID-19. Ligtas ang may alam!” DOH said on its Facebook page, inviting people to reach them through the messaging app. The official Viber group name is DOH PH COVID-19.
The country’s health agency earlier joined the popular short-form video app TikTok to spread awareness on how to protect oneself and others from the coronavirus threat.
To the tune of ZSA’s The Weekend, DOH launched a #COVIDANCE challenge to teach its followers to precautionary measures such as wash your hands, maintain one meter distance with others, avoid touching your face and follow cough etiquette.
Since the launch last week, it has gained over 600,000 followers to date.
