Korean celebs donate over $2 million to help fight COVID-19 outbreak

South Korean celebrities have collectively donated over 2.5 billion won or $2 million to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to a report on the entertainment news website Koreaboo.

As of Friday, February 28, Agence France-Presse reported that coronavirus cases in South Korea have escalated to over 2,000. 

Philstar.com report said that “more than 90 percent of the new cases were in Daegu — the city at the epicenter of the outbreak in South Korea.” 

Here are some of the many K-pop idols and Hallyu stars who gave generous donations, in cash and in kind, to aid the fight against the viral outbreak in their country.
