Donny Pangilinan has finally addressed the issue surrounding Baby Dolls member Juby’s story about a dream she had about him.
On Tuesday, Oct. 27, Pangilinan was asked about the issue in an exclusive interview with MJ Felipe on TV Patrol.
“Honestly, I understand naman where some people are coming from. I think it’s nice that they’re able to spark these types of conversations. I think these are very healthy conversations to have,” he told Felipe.
“Siguro it’s more of a question of whether certain things should be shared on different platforms. I think ayun yung pinag-usapan nila, it’s a good thing to talk about,” he added.
Donny also said he did not believe Juby intended to hurt anyone through her remarks, suggesting that the incident could serve as a learning experience for the member.
“I personally don’t think naman that she meant anything bad with it, to hurt someone. Baka masyado lang na naging komportable siya. I know this is just one of their first interviews,” he said. “It was a learning experience for everyone, but ako, I wish them all the best.”
When asked whether he was offended by the incident, Donny clarified that he was not, although he admitted feeling awkward about the situation.
“Hindi naman offended, siguro mas awkward, kasi alam kong makikita ko sila. We’re on the same network, you know. Mas yun siguro,” admitted Pangilinan.
The controversy stemmed from a past episode of Gandang Gabi Vice, where the girl group appeared as guests and were asked to name their celebrity crushes during one segment.
When Juby named Donny, she revealed that she had once dreamed about the actor in an intimate situation.
“Hindi ko kasi siya talaga crush na crush. Tapos on a random night, napanaginipan ko s’ya. Napanaginipan ko siya kinikeme niya ako,” she shared.
While some viewers found the anecdote amusing, others criticized the singer’s remarks, with several netizens and Donny’s fans raising concerns about the sexualization of the actor.
Vice Ganda nor Juby has yet to address the issue, as of writing.
