BINI receives Billboard Women of Music’s Global Force award as ‘proud Filipinas’

P-pop sensation BINI continues its global rise as the group becomes the second Filipino act honored with the Global Force award at the Billboard Women in Music 2026.

The award was presented to the group on Thursday morning, April 30 (PH time) by model-actress Cara Delevingne during the ceremony held at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

In her introduction, Delevingne paid tribute to the “Nation’s Girl Group” by highlighting their beginnings during the pandemic. She also cited the group’s recent achievements, including winning Billboard Philippines’ Powerhouse Award earlier this year and becoming the first Filipino act to perform at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival just weeks prior.

“Standing here tonight is something we, BINI, could only dream about. We are deeply honored to be given a chance to represent Filipino music and artists back home. This is not just a milestone for us, but also our responsibility, [which] we carry with so much pride,” one of the members, Colet Vergara, said during their acceptance speech.

BINI’s leader, Jhoanna Robles, added that the group hopes to inspire young girls watching around the world. “We hope that we also inspire young girls watching this, and that they realize their dreams are also valid, no matter where they come from… To our supporters, our Blooms, we miss you!”

Jhoanna also gave a special shoutout to their fans, fondly known as Bloom, as well as their families, ABS-CBN, and Billboard Philippines.

“To our supporters, our Blooms, we miss you! And of course, our company, ABS-CBN, thank you for taking a chance on these eight women and believing in us since day one,” said Robles.

She further emphasized that the honor goes beyond the group itself as it also serves as a moment of shared pride among Filipinos, saying, “We accept this award not just as BINI, but more importantly, as proud Filipinas.”

“Maraming salamat at mabuhay ang musikang Pilipino,” Robles ended her speech in Filipino, similar to “Popstar Royalty” Sarah Geronimo’s own closing words when she received the award in 2024, becoming the first Filipino artist to do so.

Following their groundbreaking milestones in the U.S.BINI is set to embark on their highly anticipated “Signals” world tour which will kick off in Manila on June 20 at the Mall of Asia and Cebu’s largest indoor arena, Seaside Cebu Arena, on July 11.

The group will also bring their show to international stops across the United Kingdom, Canada, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United States, with further details yet to be announced.
