The wedding banns at a Catholic church in Manila inadvertently confirmed that actress Bea Alonzo and businessman Ferdinand Vincent Co are preparing to walk down the aisle.
On March 8, marriage banns announcing the couple’s upcoming union were streamed during the online Mass of St. Peter the Apostle Parish. In Catholic tradition, these notices are made by the parish to formally announce an impending wedding and allow anyone with potential objections to come forward before the ceremony.
The banns mentioned the couple under their full names — “Ferdinand Vincent Pe Co” as the groom and “Phylbert Angelli Escalante Ranollo,” which is the actress’ birth name. The parish notice effectively confirmed that the actress and the business executive, who have been hounded by engagement rumors since last year, are planning to get married.
In the Philippines, marriage banns are typically posted for three consecutive Sundays in the parishes connected to the bride and groom, and the nuptials can happen soon after. The practice is part of the requirements for Catholic weddings, giving the church and community time to raise any possible canonical impediments before the ceremony proceeds.
News of the banns comes months after speculation about the pair’s romance began circulating. In May 2025, Bea and Vincent sparked dating rumors after they were reported to be vacationing together in Spain. Around the same time, Vincent had shared photos from a trip to Andalucía on his private Instagram account, including images with an unidentified woman believed to be the Kapuso star.
Vincent, who reportedly sits as the president of Puregold Price Club, was previously spotted with Bea attending company events together, including the Puregold OPM Con held at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan in July 2025.
Marriage banns have also unintentionally exposed celebrity weddings meant to stay under wraps. In 2022, notices posted at a church in Metro Manila revealed the then nuptials of actress Erich Gonzales and her non-showbiz partner, businessman Mateo Lorenzo, whose relationship and eventual wedding were kept away from the public eye.
