The wait is over! The 51st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has officially locked in its much-awaited final lineup of its official roster with the announcement of the final four entries.
The reveal took place on Friday, October 10, during an event held at the University of Makati and hosted by Enchong Dee, Jervi Wrightson, also known as KaladKaren, and Ivy Nuqui.
During the event, Pinoy Big Brother (PBB): Celebrity Collab Edition housemates Will Ashley, Dustin Yu, and Bianca De Vera thrilled the audience with a kilig-filled song performance. Fellow housemate River Joseph also took the stage alongside actors Elijah Canlas, Jameson Blake, and Anton Vinzon, serenading the crowd with a love song that drew loud cheers.
The final four films completing the MMFF 2025 roster of films are:
“I’m Perfect” is a story between two people with Down syndrome, produced by Nathan Studios of the Atayde family. Veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez grew emotional as she introduced the cast from the spectrum, whom she referred to as “Angels”, and spoke about embracing their strengths and “expecting the unexpected.”
“Love You So Bad,” stars Bianca de Vera in the film’s romantic tug-of-war, reuniting her with Will Ashley for their much-loved “WillCa” pairing while also sharing the screen with Dustin Yu for the hit “DustBia” tandem. The project marks the first time the three ex-PBB housemates will headline a movie together.
“UnMarry,” led by Zanjoe Marudo and Angelica Panganiban in their big-screen comeback, follows a couple navigating the emotional complexities of annulment.
Rounding out the lineup is “Bar Boys: Afterschool,” the sequel to the 2017 film Bar Boys, directed by Kip Oebanda. Set 10 years after the original, it features Will Benedix Ramos, Therese Malvar, Glaiza De Castro, and Will Ashley, with original stars Kean Cipriano, Rocco Nacino, Carlo Aquino, and Enzo Pineda reprising their roles.
MMFF kicked off with the reveal of its first four entries under the theme “A New Era for Philippine Cinema” in July.
The first lineup includes Nadine Lustre and Vice Ganda’s “Call Me Mother” (dir. Jun Robles Lana), “Rekonek” topbilled by Gerald Anderson (dir. Jade Castro), Piolo Pascual’s “Manila’s Finest” (dir. Rae Red), and the latest installment of the Filipino horror anthology “Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins” which stars Ivana Alawi, Fyang Smith, Ysabel Ortega, Carla Abellana, Janice De Belen, Francine Diaz, Richard Gutierrez, Seth Fedelin, Dustin Yu
Other MMFF 2025 activities to look forward to include the MMFF Media Conference happening in November, followed by the Celebrity Golf Tournament on December 9.
The much-awaited Parade of Stars will take place on December 19, leading up to the nationwide theatrical release of the official entries on December 25. The festival will culminate with the prestigious Gabi ng Parangal (Awards Night) on December 27.
