Nadia Montenegro recently resigned as Sen. Robin Padilla’s political officer after being linked to an alleged marijuana use incident inside the Senate building.
While she firmly denied the accusation, saying the unusual scent may have come from her grape-flavored vape, the accusations have left her and her family deeply hurt.
In the middle of the controversy surrounding the former actress, her daughters have become her strongest defenders.
For the Asistio siblings this is about more than public perception. It is about protecting the woman who has always been their greatest source of strength, and making sure the love they have for her is louder than any accusation.
Alyssa Asistio, Nadia’s eldest daughter, wrote a post to remind the public of the kind of woman her mother is. “She was a loyal, responsible EMPLOYEE with a HEART!” she wrote.
“In fact, she probably did more, went to more places, comforted, embraced, and shook hands with more Filipino citizens than many of the senators you voted for. Your taxes were put to better use through the work my mom did!”
She also stressed how she and her siblings lent their mom to the country as a whole but returned to them with her image tainted. “Ngayon, you return her to us broken, her name tarnished, her reputation shattered, her dignity crushed. ANG HIRAP MONG MAHALIN PILIPINAS!”
For her, the accusations have been not only false but deeply unjust. “We love our mom so deeply. She didn’t deserve any of this.”
Her sister Alyana echoed her sentiment, saying the pain their mother endured would never be erased. “What was done to our mom will never, ever be erased. The pain she went through will never be taken back,” she shared.
Alyana spoke about the heavy toll the controversy had taken. “The way this has affected our family, my mom’s name, and the trauma it brought to my siblings is something I would never wish on anyone,” she said.
“It broke us to see her doubted, accused, and hurt so easily without even being given the chance to defend herself,” she added.
While Ynna also expressed her resolve to continuously supporting their mom. “At the end of the day, we don’t need the whole world to love our mom or to love us. We just need a few real ones who truly see her heart,” she wrote on Threads.
“In this fight, we choose to surround Mama with love, truth, and real support.”
In a statement, Nadia had earlier described the situation as devastating. “I was unfairly subjected to publicity trial, misjudgments, bashings, and grave humiliation. My children were unjustly made the subject of ridicule, calling them the children of a drug addict. One comment even said maybe my children are drug addicts as well,” she said.
“These claims have caused great pain and distress to me and my family. It is deeply hurtful to see my name and reputation tarnished and destroyed by a story that is simply not true. Me and my children do not deserve this! No one deserves this,” she added.
