The beloved cast of “Reply 1988” may soon reunite to celebrate the hit Korean-drama series’ 10th anniversary. Production company “EggisComing” has confirmed that discussions are underway to create special content for the milestone event, though no concrete details have been finalized yet.
Fans were thrilled to hear that Girl’s Day member and actress Lee Hye-ri, who played the lovable Deok-sun, has been confirmed to participate. Her agency, “Sublime,” announced her attendance, further fueling excitement among viewers who still hold her drama nearly a decade after its airing.
However, one important cast might be absent. Actor Ryu Jun-yeol, who portrayed Kim Jung-hwan is reportedly unable to join due to his scheduling conflict with the filming of his upcoming Netflix film project “The Rat”. The news quickly became a talking point among fans, as many were curious whether the former couple Hyeri and Ryu would appear together.
First aired in November 2015 to January 2016, “Reply 1988” remains one of South Korea’s most iconic slice-of-life family dramas, winning hearts with its nostalgic storytelling, tight-knit neighborhood friendships, and unforgettable romance arcs.
While full details of the 10th anniversary project are still under wraps, the prospect of seeing the “Ssangmun-dong” squad together again has already stirred a wave of nostalgia across social media.
