Content creator Euleen Castro, also known as “Pambansang Yobab”, has broken her silence to address her viral video where she was accused of disrespecting a local café during her recent visit to Iloilo.

In a vlog released recently, Castro clarified her side of the story and issued a statement regarding the controversy, saying the video was meant to be humorous and that she never intended to offend anyone.

“Itong video na ’to is my statement sa nangyaring issue nga sakin doon sa Iloilo,” she began.

Euleen’s vlog comes after waves of social media reactions criticizing her review of the food and drinks served to her at the café.

“Walang masarap, even the drinks, even the lasagna. Lahat, tab-ang,” the vlogger can be heard saying in the viral video.

Castro even added, “Ang dami niyo diyan, walang masarap sa inyo, ni isa, p*t*.”

“Nag-start kasi ’to na nasa Iloilo kami, nagbakasyon kami doon… […] So sabi natin, ‘Try natin kasi wala naman nito sa Manila.’ So triny namin,” she shared.

Castro explained that she tends to order a variety of items when visiting new places to sample as many offerings as possible. However, she candidly admitted that she did not enjoy the food, triggering criticism online.

One of the main issues raised by viewers was her use of profanity in the vlog, which some interpreted as directed at the café and its staff, which Castro also clarified.

“About doon sa pagmumura kasi, main issue niyo is nagmura ako doon sa pagkain.

Euleen also made a direct apology to the staff and owner of the cafe for the incident.

“Hindi ko po hiniling ever na may magsarang restaurant just because of my feedback.

Euleen admitted that while she has grown used to hurtful treatments such as name calling and body shaming, what deeply hurt was the bombardment of hate comments which she had never experienced before.

Hindi ako nasaktan doon,” she said.

Bakit ganito? Anong nangyayari?”

She further expressed her grievances for those who have similar body type as hers, “Mas nasaktan ako para sa mga kapwa ko plus size kasi, di ba, nire-represent ko ang plus size community.
