The “Nation’s Girl Group” BINI continues to make waves in international platforms as the the P-pop act earns another feature on the official website of the Recording Academy’s Grammy Awards.
It can be recalled last year that the Grammy Awards included BINI in its list of “12 Rising Girl Groups To Know Now”. This time, another article has been published in its official website, highlighting BINI’s rise from rookies in the P-pop scene to full-fledged international stars.
It also underscored the octet’s streaming achievements growing influence since their debut in 2021, amassing billion streams on Spotify and more than 700 million views on YouTube.
Reacting to topping Spotify Philippines’ Daily Top Artists Chart and even surpassing American pop sensation Taylor Swift, Maloi said, “We used to see international artists and on the top of the list, and seeing us there, and a bunch of OPM artists too, and bands. We’re just so glad it’s OPM.”
The feature also spotlighted the group’s “hit-after-hit” songs such as “I Feel Good”, “Lagi”, “Karera”, “Salamin, Salamin”, and “Pantropiko”, as well as their performances in sold out shows both locally and abroad.
It is worth noting that BINI became the first P-pop group to perform in KCON LA and to hold a solo concert at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan, the largest indoor performance arena in the world.
Stacey expressed their hopes to perform in the main show with more songs in the future, with Jhoanna wishing to perform with the whole group, as it can be recalled that the latter had to sit out from their 2024 performance due to health issues.
The latest feature comes as BINI embarks on their first-ever “BINIverse” world tour, with sold-out shows and fan meetups in various international stops.
Gwen expressed how meaningful it was to kick off the tour in Dubai, the same city where they had their first international performance in 2021. The return marked a full-circle moment for the group, now with their own concert.
“Finally, this is our show, our time. Our own concert. I think fans and attendees should expect a show that’s going to be full of energy and a lot of power, because we’re going to be dancing the whole time,” Aiah said.
Maloi is also looking forward to exploring new cities and trying different cuisines, as many of the destinations will be firsts for the group.
Jhoanna shared that another exciting part of the tour is meeting fans, known as “Bloom”, and seeing if they’ve gained new ones around the world.
In the same article, the members expressed their excitement as they gear up to celebrate their fourth anniversary on June 11 which they fondly refer to as “National Happy BINI Day”.
Mikha explained that National BINI Day is all about giving back to their supporters. Last year’s event, which was held in Makati, featured a various fan experience with booths, games, and inflatables.
However, since the group will be on tour this year, they hinted at a special surprise in store for Blooms.
“For this year, since we’ll be on tour, we have a little — well, it’s not little. We have a surprise for our Blooms. Big, big surprise for our anniversary,” described BINI’s leader Jhoanna.
Colet encouraged fans to subscribe to their official website to stay updated as they can’t reveal the details of the “big, big surprise” yet.
Teasing the surprise, Mikha revealed it was briefly hinted at during one of their past performances, though fans likely didn’t realize it at the time.
Aiah added that this upcoming surprise is something entirely new for BINI — a fresh concept that hasn’t been released before.
