Kapamilya talent agency Star Magic issued its statement addressing online threats made against one of its artists and vowing to pursue legal action if necessary.
In a statement made on on its official social media pages on Wednesday, Star Magic emphasized its commitment to the safety and well-being of its artists and urged the public to engage responsibly online.
“Star Magic does not tolerate threats, derogatory remarks, and other personal attacks made online against our artists,” the agency wrote. “These acts have serious and damaging consequences and we will take legal action, if necessary.”
The statement came with a screenshot of a Facebook post in a fan group that issued a disturbing threat against its artist, Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Gen 11 alum JM Ibarra, due to his involvement with fellow housemates, Sofia “Fyang” Smith and Jarren Garcia’s pairing.
The post, reportedly made by an individual claiming to be a fan of the loveteam “JarFyang,” expressed frustration that Ibarra was being paired with Smith instead of Garcia.
Meanwhile, JM and Sofia recently announced their upcoming first-ever series together, “Ghosting”.
