For now, Bimby Aquino, son of television host Kris Aquino, is choosing to prioritize family and education as he prepares to enter college, revealing his interest in politics and plans to pursue a degree in Legal Management.

In an interview with Ogie Diaz uploaded last April 23, Bimby opened up about his aspirations, sharing his hopes of eventually building a career in law.

“Legal management. Magiging lawyer na ako. Imagine mo, Atty. Bimb. Diverse eh. Let’s be honest, sa business, sa politics, and showbiz also,” he told Diaz.

When asked if he sees a future in politics, Bimby said he remains open to the possibility.

“It’s always an option kasi sabi ni lola, my mom said, ‘Everyone in the family who entered politics, it is a calling.’ It’s not an easy job but it’s a job that can help so many people,” he explained, noting that he is fully aware of the challenges involved in taking up such career.

He also reflected on the realities of public service, acknowledging the need for caution and resilience, “Alam mo naman sa politika. Hindi naman toxic but more of you have to be careful talaga. There’s a saying, ‘There’s no permanent friend in politics,’ where the wind blows, di ba? That’s the sad truth.”

In the same interview, Bimby also talked about the advice his mother gave him as he entered adulthood.

“Sabi ni Mama, enjoy your youth, kasi you’ll never know pag gising mo wala na, matanda ka na,” he recalled.

Fresh from turning 18, Bimby reflected on how quickly time has passed, saying, “I realized na time flies by talaga kasi parang as I get older, the years get shorter. Parang wow, 18 years old na ako. It feels like yesterday lang na I was 10 years old.”

While many have been waiting for Bimby’s full entry into showbiz, he shared that his priorities are currently focused on caring for his mother, who continues to battle auto-immune diseases.

“Mom’s worth it eh, to take care of her. It’s really worth it talaga and it’s not boring at all. And alam mo naman si Mama, never a dull moment with Mama eh. Pero thank you po talaga for waiting for me to enter sa showbiz — pero in time,” he said.
