Kapuso actor-host Mavy Legaspi faced a wave of criticism after netizens described his live hosting stint at the Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0’s Big Night as “awkward” and “cringe.”
The reality show’s finale, held last Saturday, Feb. 28, at The Crossroads Center in Quezon City, was among the trending topics online after it crowned a new set of Big Winners and Big Placers.
However, alongside the celebration, Mavy also drew attention on X as clips of his onstage delivery circulated on social media.

One X post that gained over 20,000 likes highlighted what netizens described as Legaspi’s “awkward” and “cringe” delivery of lines.
The user who reshared the video captioned it “BBE Mavy”, a play on PBB’s voting code to evict a housemate, prompting a flood of reactions.
Some users poked fun at the host, with comments such as, “Lasing ka ba, Mavy?!” and “This is so hard to watch.”
Others offered gentler takes, saying, “I don’t hate Mavy pero ‘di talaga siya pang-hosting for me,” and “Felt bad for him TBH, he’s trying so hard to sound like a host and not like himself so he just sounds unnatural and pilit.”
Another netizen advised, “You have to improve for the viewers and also for your co-host.”
A day after the event, Mavy took to Instagram Stories to apologize for what he himself described as a “cringe moment.”
According to the actor-host, technical issues affected their delivery during the live broadcast. “We experienced the worst microphone delay and could literally hear our voices echo in the venue, which made it difficult to talk,” he explained.
“I would like to apologize if I sounded slow at times during our online live session on YouTube & Facebook. We did our best even if it was really difficult because of the sound delay,” he added, thanking viewers for their patience.
Mavy also admitted finding his hosting as “cringe” in reaction to his viral clips.
“OMG cringe nga!” he wrote, before shifting the focus back to the show’s success.
“Anyway, thank you for supporting PBB Collab 2.0. It was a very successful night. Congrats Caprice & Lella!” he said, referring to the season’s top housemates.
