Sparkle artist Sofia Pablo finally addressed her long-rumored conflict with fellow Kapuso star Jillian Ward.
Speaking GMA Integrated News’ Nelson Canlas, the 18-year-old actress spoke up on speculations surrounding her relationship with Jillian.
“Actually, lagi siyang natatanong sa ‘kin, and I’ve always said na hindi kami magkaaway, hindi rin kami magkasundo or something,” Sofia, who was interviewed alongside her on-screen partner Allen Ansay, admitted.
“Pero the truth is, I say that para iwas na issue sa amin both. Kumbaga, it’s a feud na sobrang tagal na. I think one of the things kaya ‘di namin siya naayos is because we never got to talk about it,” she added.
Sofia revealed to GMA News that the conflict between them dates back to the first season of their 2019 hit GMA series, Prima Donnas, where they co-starred together.
While she refrained from disclosing specific details about the cause of their disagreement, she shared that their once-close bond suddenly vanished.
“Nagulat na lang ako biglang hindi na,” Sofia said. “Ganun ‘yung nangyari sa amin. After nun, we never talked anymore. We’re close tapos biglang wala na. Like literal wala na, in a snap, wala pong buwelo na ilangan. Literal, stopped.”
Despite the unresolved issues, Sofia expressed her desire to keep the situation from escalating, stressing that both she and Jilian are focused on their careers.
“People should stop making an issue about it. Like kung ‘di kami OK, I don’t see any problem with it. Kumbaga it’s normal,” she said. “You can’t force friendship to reconcile out of nowhere.”
Sofia also shared her perspective on reconciliation, citing their previous misunderstanding with another Prima Donnas co-star, Will Ashley, as an example.
The two reportedly didn’t speak for four years, with communication limited to birthday greetings. However, they eventually reconciled and now star together in a new Kapuso series, “Prinsesa ng City Jail.”
“Before po we started taping, we talked,” Sofia explained her and Ashley’s now-amicable relationship as co-workers.
“I think darating naman din ‘yun with Jillian. When the time is right, kapag may taong nag-start na, ‘Bakit ‘di kayo mag-usap?’ Kasi ‘yun po ‘yung nangyari with Will. Naging OK kami kasi we both wanted to be OK na.”
For now, Sofia acknowledged that reconciliation with Jillian remains uncertain, saying, “Now is not the right time [with Jillian] yet since kahit ako labong-labo rin ako.”
