Celebrity mom Yasmien Kurdi has opened up about the “severe bullying” her 12-year-old daughter, Ayesha, has allegedly endured at school, sharing her frustration and heartbreak in an emotional Facebook post.
Yasmien detailed a recent incident where Ayesha was targeted by a group of classmates due to her inability to keep up with group messages about their upcoming Christmas party while they were abroad.
“Today, my daughter was targeted by a group of students in her class because she was unable to keep up with group messages about their upcoming Christmas party while we were out of the country,” the Kapuso actress wrote on Facebook.
According to Kurdi, the situation escalated when seven to nine students allegedly surrounded Ayesha, blocked her from leaving the classroom, and denied her access to food and recess.
“In other words, she was ganged up on,” Yasmien added.
The incident has led Ayesha to take a vacation relieve the stress caused by the said students who also harassed her by taking her video without her consent. Yasmien expressed her worry about the ordeal causing paranoia and anxiety to her child.
The actress also revealed that Ayesha has been dealing with bullying since she was in second grade, which has even led to the creation of an online “Ayesha Hate Club.”
This long-standing harassment has left Yasmien feeling deeply regretful and protective. She went on to criticize the parents of the bullies for “coming to the rescue” of their children and “twisting the events”.
“I am not surprised that the parents of bullies come to their rescue. However, twisting events and claiming it was a regular student meeting and questioning back my daughters behavior is absurd,” Kurdi asserted.
She also pointed out that most of the bullies were girls, asking, “Mind you, these are mostly girls, if not all. Gusto mo ba gawin ito sa anak mong babae?”, in her Facebook post.
“I’m so sorry, Ayesha. You have to go through all of this because I am your mom. But I will always be here for you. I will protect you with all my life. You are beautiful inside and out,” she penned to her daughter in a separate post, which came with a photo of Ayesha.
Netizens have rallied behind the actress, expressing outrage over the bullying and offering words of support for both Yasmien and Ayesha. Others called for accountability from the school and the parents of the students involved, urging them to take immediate action.
