“I hope he gets the justice I was once denied of.”
Former Kapuso singer Gerald Santos has aired his support to Sandro Muhlach against an alleged inicident, recalling a similar experience he had in the past with a former co-worker.
On his social media pages, Gerald spoke about the issue, sharing how the incident brought back same experience.
“Ang dami nagmemessage, nagta-tag sa akin about this issue. Nagbalik ang sakit sa akin at hindi ko maiwasan maluha to imagine ang sinapit nya,” said Gerald, who rose to prominence after winning as the grand champion of reality talent singing show “Pinoy Pop Superstar 2.”
To recall, Gerald previously filed a sexual harassment case against his former co-worker in GMA-7.
In a 2012 interview with Pep, Gerald said his complaints never really reached a settlement as it was only an administrative case.
The singer also shared that the said co-worker who was eventually kicked out of GMA, didn’t reach out and apologized over the matter.
Showing his full support for Sandro, son of former child actor Nino Muhlach, Gerald compared how his situation was different from before.
“My heart goes to Sandro and the whole Muhlach family.. I was once in this situation but back then wala kang boses, walang social media. Unlike ngayon na nagkaroon na ng #MeToo movement,” he wrote as published.
He also stressed, “But I will hold my head up high for standing up amidst tremendous pressure to just let go of what happened. I hope he gets the justice i was once denied of.”
GMA Network on August 1 announced that Sandro, a Sparkle artist, filed a complaint against two of its independent contractors, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz.
This is amid a blind item that circulated about a young actor who was allegedly harassed by two “TV executives” during a major showbiz event.
The Kapuso network also asked for respect for the privacy of those involved and its dedication to handling the matter with discretion as the investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, Nones and Cruz through their legal counsel said they are “deeply saddened by the serious allegations” hurled against them.
“And though these allegations do not mirror the true accounts of the event, we would like to reserve the right to respond in a proper forum when we receive a copy of the formal complaint,” Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque said in a statement.
The legal counsel also asked the public to respect the investigation being conducted on the ongoing case.
“And we advise people who have no personal knowledge of the incident to refrain from posting baseless defamatory allegations and therefore unfairly subjecting both parties to publicity trial,” it added.
