Pinay actresses including Antoinette Taus, Jolina Magdangal, Aubrey Miles, and Mariel Padilla exposed scammers pretending to be them and soliciting “donations” through fake celebrity social media accounts.

Entertainment site Fashion Pulis, recently shared screenshots of the celebrities warning their fans online as there were individuals posing as them, “seeking financial help” for typhoon victims.

Antoinette posted a screenshot in her Instagram story, revealing the cellphone number of the person imitating her.

“THIS IS A SCAM!!! All donations are made to our nonprofit official accounts! Please do not give these people or anyone soliciting! They are pretending to be me!” she captioned her post.

Meanwhile, Jolina, on the other hand, has been experiencing the same scheme.

She mentioned initially seeing Antoinette’s post, where she came to conclude that their imitators might be the same person as their SIM numbers seem to be almost similar, only a digit difference.

“PLEASE WAG KAYO MAG-SEND NG PERA,” Jolina said in her Instagram post.

Aubrey also fell victim to the same thing. Fortunately, the person involved in being scammed tried calling the number before sending the money, for authentication purposes.

To which the scammer smugly replied, “Lol. I’m not forcing you po just for you 1,000. Thanks.”

This was all documented by Miles as she posted it in her Instagram, she even furiously exclaimed, “Poser/Scammer asking for help. HOY tumigil ka nga! Dami ng problema sa Pilipinas, nakikisali ka pa eh.”

Mariel also reacted strongly online once she discovered that someone was pretending to be her.

In her lengthy Instagram caption, she wrote, “Yung mga nangsascam using my name and now using @milesaubrey naman getting money from people. This message is for you, using donations and other people’s misfortune for your greed, laziness to work and all other despicable aspects will be your first class ticket to hell.”

“Ang karma hindi mo man directly maramdaman pero babalik at babalik yan sayo at sa pamilya mo. Itigil mo yan! Itigil mo kag*g*han mo! Magtrabaho ka ng marangal,” Mariel added.

Following this, Mariel posted photos of her personally handing relief goods to victims of the typhoon in Marikina, wherein she reiterated that she did not accept any donations from anyone and that the expenses used for the operation were from her own pockets.

All these incidents spanned over the time when Typhoon Carina was at its peak.

As of now, it has not been confirmed yet whether all the scammers mentioned are just one person or connected to one another.
