The Quezon City Government and Pride PH announced that this year’s Love Laban Pride events drew an estimated 561,000 attendees nationwide, making it what organizers described as the “biggest” Pride celebration in Asia.

The annual event, held on June 27 at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman in Quezon City, brought together members of the LGBTQIA+ community, advocates, and celebrities in a celebration of love, diversity, and the continuing fight for equality and inclusivity.

According to the organizers, an estimated 300,000 participants attended the main gathering in U.P. Diliman alone, while simultaneous Pride celebrations across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao contributed to the nationwide total of 561,000 attendees under the One Pride PH campaign.

Several celebrities joined the festivities as hosts, including Kaladkaren, Sassa Gurl, Esnyr, AC Soriano, Yani Hates, and Inah Evans.

Also part of the lineup were Pipay, Sophie Prime, Gaia Polyhymnia, Sky Quizon, Migs Almendras, Kyo Quijano, Lui Pacheco, Bie Revalde, and Bong Gonzales.

The celebration also featured performances from various Star Magic artists and OPM acts, including AJAA, Maki, Cup of Joe, BGYO, Baby Dolls, Viñas Deluxe, Iñigo Pascual, John Saga, Michelle Dee, AZTER, WRIVE, Jace Roque, FANA, ENZO, Zio Aguirre, Carmelle, Mika Salamanca, and Angela Ken.

In a joint announcement, the Quezon City Government and Pride PH thanked attendees for making this year’s event a historic milestone.

“Maraming salamat! We made history nationwide!” the statement began.

“Grabe ang pasabog ng pagmamahal at paninindigan! Isang nag-aalab na pasasalamat sa lahat ng naki-rampa, naki-martsa, at naki-saya sa #LOVELABAN. Sabay-sabay nating ipinakita ang lakas ng pag-galaw nang sama-sama at patuloy na binigyang-buhay ang ating pambansang rampa!” it continued.

The organizers highlighted the turnout at the Quezon City event and the participation of communities across the country.

“Umabot sa 300,000 ang naki-tindig sa U.P. Diliman! At mula Luzon, Visayas, hanggang Mindanao, sumabay ang iba’t ibang rehiyon at lokal na pamayanan para sa kabuuang 561,000 nationwide sa ilalim ng #OnePridePH!”

They added that the overwhelming support helped the event achieve a historic milestone, “Dahil sa inyong walang katulad na suporta at tapang, na-achieve natin ang biggest and baddest Pride event in Asia!”

The statement also paid tribute to participants who marched in support of equal rights.

“Sa bawat sigaw para sa pantay na karapatan at sa bawat patak ng pawis habang umara—para sa atin ‘to, mga siszt! Mula sa QC hanggang sa mga probinsya at lungsod, kayo ang tunay na puso at lakas ng martsa.”

The announcement concluded with a renewed call to continue advocating for equality beyond Pride Month: “Patuloy nating ipaglaban ang pag-ibig at pagkakapantay-pantay araw-araw!”
