Lexter Castro, tagged as “Boy Dila,” apologized to San Juan City residents after a viral video showed his behavior during last week’s “Wattah Wattah” festival.

At a press conference on Tuesday, July 2, joined by San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, Castro spoke to the media about the incident in which he was captured laughing and sticking out his tongue while spraying water at a delivery rider using a water gun.

Previously, Lexter had also issued an apology via a TikTok video.

The 21-year-old resident apologized for his actions, stating, “Sa lahat, humihingi po ako ng paumanhin sa inyo sa mga nasabi ko po sa inyo lalung-lalo na po sa rider, humihingi po ako ng tawad sa inyo at gusto ko po kayong makita ng personal.”

He revealed that he and his family have been receiving death threats online and mentioned the stress he suffered from the backlash, pleading, “Huwag naman po sana nilang idamay.”

Mayor Zamora expressed his frustration upon seeing the video and apologized for the incident, emphasizing the importance of understanding that actions have consequences, even during celebratory events.

He also urged the public to stop fake bookings and deliveries targeting Castro, as they harm delivery riders and sellers. “Itigil na po natin ang mga fake booking at fake delivery dahil ang nabibiktima po nito at naaapektuhan ay ang mga delivery riders and sellers po natin,” said Zamora.

Zamora concluded by promising to amend the 2018 City Ordinance to impose stricter penalties on festival violators.
