Comedian Dinky Doo Jr. passed away on Tuesday morning, July 2, as confirmed by his family.
Dinky’s daughter announced the sad news on his Facebook account which read, “Family, Friends, Brethrens… This is his daughter speaking po. I’m here to inform po na wala na po si daddy. 7:20 AM of July 2, 2024, he was pronounced dead.”
“Please, all your prayers to my father and family for him to rest peacefully would be very appreciated. Like daddy would say: Salamat po sa Dios sa lahat po ng nangyayari,” she added.
His brother, Artstrong Clarion, also shared the news of his passing on Facebook, expressing his grief, “Fly High Kuya Dinky Doo Jr. May your Soul Spirit have a safe Ascension. You lived a full life and we are so proud of you… Rest in Paradise. Mahal ka naming lahat.”
Neither of his relatives’ posts mentioned the cause of death. However, according to PEP’s report, the late actor had battled diabetes and related complications since 2008.
Newscaster and radio host Julius Babao also shared a video of his interview with Dinky where he reflected on his life and legacy.
Babao shared further details about the passing of the late comedian, revealing that he had been undergoing dialysis for a long time due to kidney disease.
“Noong nakaraang buwan ay nakapanayam ko pa si Dinky sa aking YouTube Channel. Ito na pala ang kanyang magiging pinakahuling interview,” Julius wrote in the caption.
“Wala pa pong announcement kung saan siya ibuburol at ililibing. Ang aming taus pusong pakikiramay sa kanyang maybahay na si Grace at sa kanyang mga anak. 🙏🏻”
Dinky had a prolific career in the entertainment industry which began in 1987. His later works included Markova: Comfort Gay, Mano Mano 2: Ubusan ng Lakas, I Think I’m In Love, Birhen ng Manaoag, Lagot Ka Sa Kuya Ko, Suddenly It’s Magic, and The Fighting Chefs.
