Rian Bacalla, formerly known as Ryan James Bacalla, has taken to social media to share her journey from being an openly queer teenager to a confident young woman.
The former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate, who participated in the PBB 737 edition in 2015 and was fondly known as the “Kid Sunshine ng Cebu,” posted a then-and-now photo on Facebook showing the significant changes in her life over the past nine years.
“9 years ago today was the time I went inside the Pinoy Big Brother ABS-CBN house as a teen housemate,” Rian began, reflecting on her entry into the reality show.
Rian expressed the transformation she has undergone, stating, “I was once a gay not totally accepted by my family and years forward, I’ve blossomed into a lady that I am now today.”
“A lot has changed since then. But one thing is for sure, I’ll forever be your KID SUNSHINE NG CEBU 🥰,” she concluded her post.
Rian is now one of the candidates for the upcoming “Queen of Cebu City Pride 2024,”1 1 Y 1 representing Barangay Labangon in Cebu City.
