Richard Gutierrez and Barbie Imperial were recently seen together in the bustling Myeong-dong area, a popular shopping destination in South Korea.
A netizen posted photos of Richard and Barbie on Facebook with a caption that read, “Kayo na maglagay ng captions.” The post containing their photos, however, has now been deleted by the uploader.
The netizen shared the story in the comments section of how they managed to take a selfie with the celebrities, as reported by PEP.
According to the uploader, they were unable to get a photo with Richard as Barbie informed them that the two were not allowed to be seen together in photos.
The netizen wrote, “Gusto ko din [sana] magpa-[picture] [kay] [boy]. Sabi ni girl hindi daw pwede [makita] silang [magkasama] napaisip tuloy [ako] [kung] ako [lang] [ba] n[a]kakilala sa kanila).”
Despite the restrictions on photos, the uploader described Barbie, who was accompanied by her mother, as friendly and approachable.
Their conversation became even more engaging when the netizen mentioned that they were also Bicolana, like Barbie who was born and raised in Daraga, Albay.
Concluding their comment, the netizen expressed respect for the celebrities’ privacy, “[L]ife nila ‘yan k[a]ya we respect ‘yung choice nila lalo na sa love life as public figures sila.
“If they [want to] keep their secret […] dapat hindi sa public area (if ayaw nila kay Cristy at Ogie),” the user added.
Previously, the two had been hounded by romance rumors after being seen together last January, amid ongoing controversies about Richard’s separation from his wife, Sarah Lahbati.
As of writing, Richard and Barbie have yet to release their statements about the circulating photos.
