Niño Muhlach sells 1977 FAMAS trophy to Boss Toyo for P500K

Former award-winning child star Niño Muhlach sold his cherished acting award to YouTuber and collector Boss Toyo for half a million pesos.

The comedian-actor recently graced an episode of Boss Toyo, whose real name is Jayson Luzadas, where he visited the latter’s shop to present his Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) trophy for Best Child Performer in 1977.

According to Muhlach, the main reason he handed over the award was to have it “restored” and showcased in vlogger’s soon-to-be-established museum dedicated to memorabilia from several Pinoy artists.

It can be recalled that Boss Toyo was also able to acquire an award from another child actor, Jiro Manio, who sold his Gawad Urian Best Actor trophy a few months ago.

“Kung saka-sakali, ang habol ko lang talaga is ma-restore ‘yan at mailagay mo roon sa sinasabi mong museum mo. Parang legacy ko so everyone can see it,” Niño told Boss Toyo.

“Kasi sa bahay hindi mo na nakikita eh. Kita mo nga, sabi ko, napapabayaan lang. Dahil ang dami ko ring ibang awards eh,” he added.

Moreover, it was revealed that Boss Toyo initially contacted the actor to express his interest in one of Muhlach’s FAMAS awards, and requested to see some of his personally-owned artifacts.

“Hindi siya pumunta talaga rito para ibenta ‘to. At ako ‘yung nag-request kasi sabi ko nga, kung meron akong gustong makuhang FAMAS child actor [award] is ‘yung kay idol Niño,” Boss Toyo shared.

“Ang hirap presyuhan ng isang Niño Muhlach. Priceless eh… P500 [thousand]!”, he remarked.

The content creator honored Muhlach’s remarkable contributions to the local entertainment industry through his movies with acting icons like Fernando Poe Jr. and Dolphy.

“Ikaw ang barometer, pag sinabing ‘child actor’, tandaan natin, wala pa akong nakitang nakadaig sayo as a child actor,” Boss Toyo said.

Apart from the award, Niño also gave Boss Toyo some of the theater lobby cards he acquired from movies he starred in and produced.

Muhlach previously earned the title, “Child Wonder of the Philippines”, for holding the record as the “highest-paid child actor” in the history of the local film industry.
