Claudine Barretto looked back on the day she was so heartbroken as she commemorated late ex-boyfriend Rico Yan’s 22nd death anniversary.
The actress on Friday, March 29, reposted a reel shared by a fanpage showing her August 2023 interview with broadcast journalist Karen Davila where the latter asked why she pays a visit to Rico’s grave every year.
“He is a big part of my life so isa lang pinakiusap ko talaga sa mga fans namin ni Rico na wag kalimutan siya and I’m just so grateful na talagang up to this day they honor him, they celebrate him.”
The post also included throwback clips and photos of Claudine and Rico’s sweet moments together on and off-screen.
“March 29 my heart stopped,” Claudine captioned the said reel alongside heartbroken emojis and the hashtag #alwaysandforever.
Rico died of hemorrhagic pancreatitis at the age of 27 on March 29, 2002. The former matinee idol would have been 49 years old last March 14.
Claudine and Rico who were a popular loveteam in the ‘90s, dated for four years before ending their relationship.
