After denying dating rumors, Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol confirmed they are indeed in a relationship.
So Hee and Jun Yeol sparked dating rumors after they were spotted vacationing together at a hotel in Hawaii, which both of their agencies initially denied on March 15.
A day after, Soo Hee released a lengthy statement in a blog to personally confirm that she and Jun Yeol are dating.
“It’s true that we are in a relationship with positive feelings,” So Hee was quoted as saying in her blog as reported by Soompi.
So Hee stated that she and Jun Yeol first met at the actor’s photo exhibition and ended up saying “hello” as they are in talks to be working on a project together.
The actress furthered that her and Jun Yeol’s romance did not overlap with the actor’s relationship with his ex-girlfriend Hyeri of Girl’s Day.
“When we exchanged feelings for one another, it was already the beginning of 2024, and his breakup with that person was already wrapped up in early 2023. I heard that news articles about the breakup came out in November. Based on this fact, I confirmed my own feelings, and I kept going with the relationship,” wrote So Hee.
The Nevertheless star also addressed her “pathetic” Instagram story amid her and Jun Yeol’s dating rumors which netizens alleged was alluding to Hyeri.
Hyeri earlier posted an Instagram story deemed by netizens as a shade towards her Jun Yeol and So Hee’s romance.
“It’s true, it was pathetic and lame. I should have just stayed still, but even though I didn’t want to see rumors and claims that I started dating [Ryu Jun Yeol] before his breakup, I still saw and heard them, so I temporarily lost all reason and behaved rudely”.
While So Hee did not directly name Hyeri, the actress said she will apologize to her about the matter and, noting “I sincerely apologize to you all for not reacting wisely”.
“Because I acted based on my emotions rather than rational thinking, I acknowledge that this is completely my fault, regardless of my reasons,” So Hee explained.
So Hee ended her lengthy statement, expressing her deep apologies to her fans and supporters while reflecting on her actions.
“Thinking of my fans, who must be worrying about me even in this situation, my heart aches, but when you’ve done something wrong, you need to be punished for it.
“I have no doubt that I will become a better version of myself, and thank you for supporting me. I’m sorry and apologetic, but because of that, I want to do better. I will learn how to control my greedy self, and I will greet you as a more mature version of myself.”
Ryu Jun Yeol’s agency, meanwhile, subsequently released a statement, likewise confirming the actor’s relationship with Soo Hee.
“Ryu Jun Yeol and Han So Hee confirmed their positive feelings for one another and have been dating since the beginning of this year. Ryu Jun Yeol got to know Han So Hee after his breakup, and they recently confirmed their feelings [for each other],” wrote C-Jes Studio.
The agency reiterated on asking the public to respect the actor’s private life.
“In the future as well, in order to protect our actor’s basic rights, we will continue to not release a statement in response to each and every request to clarify and prove the details of his personal life. We ask for your understanding.
“Additionally, regarding malicious slander and insulting posts about our actor, we will be taking strong action through a legal representative in response to falsehoods, defamation of character, insults, and the violation of [his] rights,” added C-Jes.
