Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo gave a heartfelt shoutout to her Mommy Divine during her interview at the Billboard Women in Music 2024.

At the event’s gala, Sarah, accompanied by her husband, Matteo Guidicelli, was interviewed by hosts Rania Aniftos and Lilly Singh where she described being a Global Force honoree as “unexpected”.

“It’s very unexpected, I mean, to be considered a global force. For me, a global force means having that power to influence people,” the pop icon stated.

She continued, “And it also comes with a big responsibility, right? You have to be mindful with the materials that you are going to put out there. So you have to create change and positivity towards other people.”

While the awarding event is considered a celebration of female artists’ contributions and achievements in music, the “Tala” singer did not forget to show appreciation for men.

“Women are beautiful, women are strong. Now that I am married, I understand how marriage can be difficult sometimes,” Sarah shared.

“Men are beautiful as well, I mean the way they manage, they cope up with everything that goes on with our minds as women. I also would like to salute men on how they take care of us women,” she added.

Sarah went on to emphasize the role of mothers in everyone’s lives including hers, as she took the time to honor her Mommy Divine in her speech.

“But women, especially mothers out there — shoutout to my mother, Mommy Divine Geronimo, you are the best, you are my hero, I love you very much,” Sarah expressed her love for her mom.

“I mean I can not imagine myself being a mother, all the sacrifices that a mother has to do for their child, it’s mind-blowing,” she lauded the efforts of mothers.

Concluding the interview, Sarah took pride in making history and representing the Philippines and its local music scene, saying, “I am truly honored to be here to represent our country and our music, the Filipino music. Mabuhay ang OPM!”

On Instagram, Matteo expressed his pride for Sarah with a short but sweet message.

“You are the Global force! Congratulations! Keep making music! 🇵🇭💯❤️,” he penned to his wife.
