Controversial online personality Christian “Xian” Albert Gaza announced that he is now engaged to his girlfriend.
On his Facebook post, Xian could be seen on one knee, holding a ring and proposing to a woman dressed in white.
The entrepreneur’s caption reflected his emotions at the moment, “[K]ung palagi na lang akong matatakot sa mga nangyayaring hiwalayan eh ‘di hindi ko na mararanasan ang tunay na kaligayahan.”
The couple chose the popular tourist spot in Singapore, Marina Bay Sands, as the backdrop for their special moment.
In a video posted on the same day, Xian expressed his sentiments about marriage, stating, “I thought marriage is just a paper, ’til I met you.”
The “self-proclaimed scammer” also revealed in a separate post that he borrowed a significant amount of money to purchase the engagement ring. The said post was accompanied by a screenshot of his conversation with the person he loaned money from.
“Hindi ako liquid ngayon kaya umutang ako ng PHP100,000 kay Boss Toyo pambili ng singsing,” shared Xian, referring to Boss Toyo, a businessman and fellow content creator.
Even amid financial challenges, Xian emphasized his commitment to making the engagement special.
“Kahit naghihirap na ko at walang pera eh gagawan ko ng paraan kasi naniniwala ako na walang babae ang may deserve ng 299 ring mula sa Shopee,” he stated, referencing a recent viral controversy where a man received criticism for gifting his fiancée an inexpensive engagement ring.
Xian defended his decision, posing a thought-provoking question, “Kung hindi ko kayang diskartihan ang isang decent engagement ring, paano pa kaya yung kinabukasan naming dalawa at ng magiging anak namin?”
