Asia’s Superstar Kathryn Bernardo brought pride to the country for winning the Outstanding Asian Star award at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2023.
She is the second Filipina to achieve the recognition following Belle Mariano in 2022.
Kathyrn attended the awarding ceremony held in Seoul on Thursday, Sept. 21 to personally receive her award for her performance in the hit KathNiel series 2 Good 2 Be True.
She played the role of Ali, a personal nurse to a wealthy elder, together with her reel and real-life partner Daniel Padilla as her love interest.
The actress shared the stage with Thai actor Gun Atthaphan Phunsawat as she delivered her acceptance speech where she expressed her gratitude to her 2 Good 2 Be True family and fans.
“When I initially found out about this nomination and recognition for my craft … that in itself is already a win for me,” the actress said.
Kathryn honored all health workers for their hard work to serve the public, similar to the character she played in the series.
“This project made me appreciate our nurses and healthcare workers,” the actress said.
She also thanked her Filipino fans for their support, “And to my fans from the Philippines, this is for you. You guys are a gem and I appreciate each and every one of you.”

Kathryn also took to social media to thank her supporters, along with a photo of her SDA 2023 trophy.
“This is for you, this is for us. From the bottom of my heart, maraming maraming salamat po. 🤍,” she wrote in her X post.
Kathryn is currently promoting her upcoming dark comedy film titled A Very Good Girl, where she plays the lead role alongside Golden Globe nominee and veteran actress Dolly De Leon.
