Bugoy Cariño is now engaged to his longtime partner EJ Laure!
Bugoy popped the big question to EJ during his 21st birthday celebration last Sunday, Sept. 3.
His former Hashtags co-member Zeus Collins, who was among the attendees of the event, captured the intimate moment on his Instagram story showing Bugoy giving his message to EJ before getting on his knee to ask her hand in marriage.
“Gusto ko lang sabihin at ipagsagiwan sa lahat ng kaibigan na nandito kaya napakaimportante niyo sa’kin, na itong babaeng ‘to papakasalin ko,” Bugoy said, eliciting cheers from his guests.
He continued, “Itong babaeng ‘to mamahalin ko hanggang dulo. Kaya maraming salamat sa pagpunta niyo. EJ, Ennajie Cruz Laure, mahal na mahal kita. Will you marry me?”
A brief moment passed before the volleyball player gave her sweetest yes to Bugoy.
In another video uploaded by dance coach Peter Lee Collado on TikTok, EJ became emotional as they were joined by their five-year-old daughter Scarlet on stage.
Earlier, EJ penned a birthday message to Bugoy in her recent Instagram post along with their family photo.
“Happy birthday mahal @iambugoycarino03 wish you all the best ✨ andito lang ako to support you! Mahal na mahal ka namin ni @iamscarletcarino ??? enjoy ur day!! ?,” she wrote in the caption.
In a report by Pilipino Star Ngayon, Bugoy previously revealed his plans to tie the knot with his girlfriend a few days ago during the media conference for his upcoming film with Bella Mariano, Huling Sayaw.
It can be recalled that the couple had a controversial timeline in their relationship because of their age gap. Bugoy was only 16 when he got EJ, 21, pregnant with their first child.
The two introduced their daughter to the public in September 2020 when Bugoy celebrated his 18th birthday.
